Worst Economy Since the Great Depression

I thought we were in the worst economy since the Great Depression...and that indulging in private plans was for evil people.

So why is the House planning to spend $550M on a fleet of Gulfstream and Boeing planes. So is it good or bad to buy private planes?

Looks like the Senate may try and stop them. But I bet dollars to donuts, the deal goes through.
