I agree with her, but the kid is responsible for his own actions:

He's just a naive kid who got caught up in a whirlwind. He's a teenager who got his girlfriend pregnant, which is hard enough to deal with. Now, he's estranged from his own child; he is massaged, paid, and goaded by clever people who've seen ways they can use him. But now he's cut off from the access to information that made him useful. And the material he's coming up with has become increasingly desperate-sounding, like the fake confessions of a tortured man. What does the boy have left? Yes, there's his genitalia. He's still got that to reveal. There will be the Playgirl spread, but then what? Is there anyone in his life who loves him, who is available to help him? He's surrounded by false friends who will soon have used up everything he had to give. What resources does he have to draw on as his fame spike plummets? We are talking about a boy who is still only 19 years old. God help him.

Levi Johnston Won't Go Away

I don't know how Palin tolerates this parasite. I feel sorry for her grandson. You know that's who will suffer the consequences of this mess. And what else has this twurp got to say?

Levi Johnston says he's keeping some "huge" things about Sarah Palin from the public.

In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview with "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, which aired Wednesday, the father of Palin's grandson says, "There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven't said them because I'm not gonna hurt her that way.

" ... I have things that can, you know -- that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I'm not gonna go that far. You know, I mean, if I really wanted to hurt her, I could, very easily. But there's -- I'm not gonna do it. I'm not going that far."

He added that he's "sure Sarah's got something ... coming for me," perhaps in her soon-to-be-released memoir, but, "I'm not worried about her saying anything about me. I've really never done anything bad. I don't have anything to hide. So she can go on and say what she wants."

Palin Book Advance

Palin made $1.25M in her book advance:

Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin reported Tuesday that she has received at least $1.25 million for her hugely anticipated upcoming book "Going Rogue."

A disclosure statement released Tuesday discusses Palin's finances from Jan. 1 to July 27, when she resigned as Alaska governor. Palin says she received $1.25 million from publisher HarperCollins for the book.

The document only provides a partial picture of the book deal because it doesn't cover the three months she has been out of office. Palin doesn't elaborate on her book compensation, describing the $1.25 million figure only as a "retainer."

It's likely she will be make more money when it's all said and done. "Going Rogue" catapulted to No. 1 on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com after HarperCollins announced in late September it had moved up the release date of 1.5 million copies.

Oprah and Palin

Sarah Palin is going to sit down with Oprah Winfrey.

Harpo Productions announced Tuesday that the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, Nov. 16.

Letterman Apologizes to Palin Again

Apparently taking his cues from Mark Sanford, Dave Letterman continued to talk about his sordid affair....but did manage to get off another apology to Sarah Palin.

"Through all of this, you have to ask yourself what really happened. And what really happened was you can't be victimized by criminals. So you have to go ahead and push back if you're being pushed by something illegal like this," Letterman told his audience Monday.

"And through all of the heartache, and the attention, and the embarrassment, I still feel like I did the right thing, and now also, because what can it hurt, once again I'd like to apologize to the former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. I'm terribly, terribly sorry. So there we go," he added to cheers from the crowd.

Palin speaks in Asia

Palin made her much talked about speech in Asia. It was closed to the press, but there are those who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"I'm going to call it like I see it and I will share with you candidly a view right from Main Street, Main Street U.S.A.," Palin told a room full of asset managers and other finance professionals, according to a video of part of the speech obtained by The Associated Press. "And how perhaps my view of Main Street ... how that affects you and your business."

Palin started off her keynote — which was closed to reporters — with a light talk about the links between her state and the southern Chinese territory, then touched later on economic issues and China.

One attendee said she called on China to be a more responsible global citizen, allow greater freedoms and take a more active role in solving pressing world issues.

She also criticized the U.S. Federal Reserve's massive intervention in the economy over the last year, arguing its actions only exacerbated the crisis, according to another attendee. She also praised the conservative economic policies of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

The AP was sure to add this little gem:

Palin, who burst on the U.S. political scene last year when she was chosen as Republican Sen. John McCain's running mate, was ridiculed during the campaign after contending her state's proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience.

"You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska," she said.

Palin received her first passport in 2007, to visit Alaska National Guard members serving in Kuwait and Germany.

And of course, the Democrats had to take their pop shots:

Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said Tuesday the group knew little about Palin's speech.

"We're curious as to what she's willing to say in private but not in public," Sevugan said. "Are there other countries that she can see from her window that she doesn't want us to know about?"

Levi Johnston Has Said He Will Pose for Playgirl

Do you suppose he knows this is mainly for gay men?

Johnston, the former boyfriend of Palin's daughter Bristol, said he would be happy to strip off. The 19-year-old self-confessed "redneck" from Wasilla, Alaska seemed unaware that Playgirl has a large gay readership.

"I would do it," Johnston said during a behind-the-scenes video for his recent Vanity Fair photoshoot. Although he had never read Playgirl, he claimed to be familiar with its contents: "I'm guessing it's a dude posing for women."

Unzipped magazine has extended an offer. Rick Andreoli, executive editor of Unzipped Media, said Johnston was a gay icon. "The gay community's outpouring of support and adoration for Levi Johnston has been loud and clear since he burst onto the political scene last fall.

"Now, having learned of his desire to bare all for his fans and admirers, we've sent an official offer letter to his manager and eagerly await their response."

He also claimed that Palin's carefully constructed image as a moose-hunting "hockey mom" was false. "She says she goes hunting and lives off animal meat - I've never seen it. I've never seen her touch a fishing polie. She had a gun in her bedroom and one day she asked me to show her how to shoot it."

Aren't there pictures galore of Palin hunting and fishing, starting when she was a kid? How many actually believe she asked Levi to show her how to shoot her gun.

She should have used it to shoot him.

Pesky Palin is back

Palin has posted on her Facebook account again. This time she is talking about how there should be no health care reform without tort reform. She even quotes President Clinton.

So what can we do? First, we cannot have health care reform without tort reform. The two are intertwined. For example, one supposed justification for socialized medicine is the high cost of health care. As Dr. Scott Gottlieb recently noted, “If Mr. Obama is serious about lowering costs, he'll need to reform the economic structures in medicine—especially programs like Medicare.” [1] Two examples of these “economic structures” are high malpractice insurance premiums foisted on physicians (and ultimately passed on to consumers as “high health care costs”) and the billions wasted on defensive medicine.

Palin is at it again...talking about God and invoking religion into every government policy debate. Her latest wingnut comment? "We are God's partners in matters of life and death". Creepy..huh?

Sarah Palin stikes again

Sarah Palin has another posting up on her Facebook page. You just know President Obama would love to smother her.

I join millions of Americans in expressing appreciation for the Senate Finance Committee’s decision to remove the provision in the pending health care bill that authorizes end-of-life consultations (Section 1233 of HR 3200). It’s gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress; however, that provision was not the only disturbing detail in this legislation; it was just one of the more obvious ones.

As I noted in my statement last week, nationalized health care inevitably leads to rationing. There is simply no way to cover everyone and hold down the costs at the same time. The rationing system proposed by one of President Obama’s key health care advisors is particularly disturbing. I’m speaking of the “Complete Lives System” advocated by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the president’s chief of staff. President Obama has not yet stated any opposition to the “Complete Lives System,” a system which, if enacted, would refuse to allocate medical resources to the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled who have less economic potential. [1] Why the silence from the president on this aspect of his nationalization of health care? Does he agree with the “Complete Lives System”? If not, then why is Dr. Emanuel his policy advisor? What is he advising the president on? I just learned that Dr. Emanuel is now distancing himself from his own work and claiming that his “thinking has evolved” on the question of rationing care to benefit the strong and deny the weak. [2] How convenient that he disavowed his own work only after the nature of his scholarship was revealed to the public at large.

I bet everyone who worked so hard to run Palin out of office will soon come to regret that decision.

The Jesse Griffen Take Down

Dan Riehl and Stacy McCain did a little digging and came up with the goods on the Alaska blogger that started the Palin divorce rumors. it started with malicious lies. It ended with Mr. Griffen no longer working as a kindergarten teacher. Mr. Griffen had some pretty disturbing stuff on his site that I don't think most parents would be pleased with.

Check out Dan and Stacy's site for all the juice. I have to say...I'm pretty impressed with what they were able to discover and how they pieced the whole thing together. Kudos to them.

Sarah Palin is racist...and she doesn't even know it

This little entertaining clip alerts us to Sarah Palin's subconscious racism. Sarah Palin is Harper Lee of the South and you can't put a white woman with a black man and not know something is going on there....or something like that. Palin is using the "Southern strategy" all the way up in Alaska. Or is Alaska between South Carolina and Georgia? I don't know geography well.

See if you can make any sense out of what these idiots are saying. And why are we still talking about Sarah Palin? Didn't she quit?

Interesting twist in the "Palin's are getting a divorce" drama

Over the weekend, the blogosphere was abuzz about the Palin's getting a divorce. It was first reported by some CNN stringer at Alaskareports.com. He got his information from some guy named Gryphen at theimmoralminority.com.

The Palin's have denied the rumors and their attorney sent a cease and desist type letter to Gryphen. Well, the CNN stringer blocked the name of the person at theimmoralminority.com, but forgot to block out part of a sentence that reveled this guy works for an elementary school as a kindergarten assistant (which should just warm your heart that these are the people teaching your kids).

It has since been revealed the kindergarden teacher/anti-Palin blogger is Jesse Griffin.

I hope the Palin's do sue. I wouldn't even ask for a correction on stuff, I would just start handing out lawsuits like they handed out ethics complaints.

Liberals Support Career Women

Liberals are always advocating for the rights of women. They constantly push for legislation that will "benefit" women, such as government paid daycare or forcing companies to give 1-2 years of paid leave to new mothers...because that's what they do in the more evolved societies...the societies that believe women should have a career and be a mother.

Liberals are constantly railing against the "glass ceiling" women encounter in the workplace. We heard all about the 18M cracks in the glass ceiling this last election.

We have heard over and over about how society limits a woman's ability to have choices in her life. Women should be allowed to fulfill their dreams and achieve their ambitions.

So I was surprised to find that in a survey about what Sarah Palin should do next in her career, 45% believe she should be a homemaker. How can that be? How can progressive liberals who have spent so much time marching, lobbying, and campaigning for the rights of women think Palin should stay at home and raise her kids? Can anyone explain this to me? This survey has to be wrong.

NYT vs Beehive Beauty

The NYT had an article quoting Sarah Palin's hairdresser, Jessica Steele, as saying Palin's hair is falling out.

Friends worried that she appeared anxious and underweight. Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser and close friend, Jessica Steele.

“Honestly, I think all of it just broke her heart,” Ms. Steele said in an interview at her beauty parlor in Wasilla, the Beehive.

Now the hairdresser is on Twitter, twitting away that it is all a lie.

I don't know about this. Would the NYT tell an outright lie? They got her hairdresser's name correct. Maybe Jessica did speak with them and made the statement in a sympathetic manner, not realizing it would be used against Palin. That sounds more plausible.

I am no fan of the NYT, but I can't imagine they would just make up a story out of thin air.

Another Palin article about nothing

When it comes to Sarah Palin, the media is quickly becoming the Seinfeld version of the news. Newsweek has an article about Sarah Palin that is really a lot about nothing. The article is about why Sarah "really" resigned as Governor.

John Coale, a Washington lawyer who helped Palin set up a legal-defense fund and PAC, tells NEWSWEEK the fund is "well on its way" to paying off $500,000 in legal debt from the campaign and another $100,000 in bills incurred later, leaving questions about how big a part money woes played in her decision to resign.

Ummm...if she can rack up $500,000 in legal bills in 8 months, what would her legal bills be if she stayed on another 18 months? If she is accumulating what calculates out to be roughly $63K a month, in 18 months she will have over $1M in addition to the $500K. Is spending $1.5M -2M on frivolous complaints a good use of money? As she racks up legal bills, that means she has to go beg more people for money to pay it off. I don't blame her for wanting off that merry-go-round...especially considering 2 additional complaints have been filed since she announced her resignation. It doesn't appear as if the complaints were going to go away.
Here's where the article starts to turn into nothing:

One thing is clear: Palin is fuming at the McCain camp, which she believes saddled her with all that debt. At the time John McCain tapped Palin, she was using Alaska state funds to pay the lawyer she hired to defend her against ethics charges. McCain aides, worried that that could raise ethical questions, put an end to the payments.

Really? How is that clear? I'm assuming being the stellar journalist Mark Hosenball is, he spoke with the Governor when writing this article and that is where he is getting his information. Oh wait, no it's not. It's just more "super secret, anonymous McCain campaign workers". If Palin is fuming at the McCain campaign, I would imagine it would have more to do with stories coming from said campaign workers than paying off her legal bills.

Here's where things get testy: Coale says the McCain campaign, and later the Republican National Committee, led Palin to believe that they would pay her bills, but never did, causing Palin's debt to pile up. But two former senior McCain officials, who asked for anonymity to keep political peace, say there was no such promise (online finance records show no payments to Palin's lawyer).

What is Mark Hosenball getting at here? If, according to the first part of the article, she has plenty of money in the fund created to help pay off her legal bills, then why would she be mad at the McCain campaign or the RNC? Wouldn't Palin want the bills paid, regardless of who pays them. Does it really matter if the money to pay the bills comes from her legal defense fund or the McCain/RNC campaign? If the bills are getting paid, the bills are getting paid.

This article makes no sense. It begins by talking about how Palin has enough money in the defense fund she created to pay off her legal bills and asks, "so what is the real reason she resigned"...then it spirals into some nonsense about how she's mad at the McCain campaign. If the thesis of the article is about "the real reason Palin resigned", we are to conclude it is because she is mad at John McCain.

And that makes perfect sense.

The most telling part of the article can be found in the last sentence:

Palin's spokeswoman, her lawyer, and an RNC spokeswoman didn't respond to requests for comment.

McCain Campaign

I have been saying since the election that McCain's campaign advisor's did not serve him well. First you have the article in Variety, where Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt were fingered as the "source". Now you have this... just more evidence of to support my theory.

But on the subject of linking Obama to ex-Weatherman Bill Ayers, it turns out that Palin hadn't gone rogue. Balz and Johnson answer this question pretty definitively. They've obtained an e-mail from campaign adviser Nicolle Wallace sent to Palin on the morning of October 4rd, with an attached New York Times article about Obama's relationship with Ayers.

Turns out that the McCain campaign was a week away from running an ad linking Obama to Ayers. The e-mail from Wallace, according to Balz and Johnson, reads as follows: "Governor and Team: rick [Davis], Steve [Schmidt] and I suggest the following attack from the new york times. If you are comfortable, please deliver the attack as written. Please do not make any changes to the below without approval from steve or myself because precision is crucial in our ability to introduce this."

Something tells me Palin's book will be very interesting...if she decides to spill the beans.

And anyone who hires those two tards to manage their campaign after all this coming out, deserves to lose.
